Robert Ellis Weekley Jr., always made friends
Robert Ellis Weekley Jr. passed away Sunday, Nov. 10, 2024. He was born Oct. 9, 1962, in Springfield, Mo., to Judy Weekley and Robert Weekley.
He attended Wentzville High School while living in Lake Saint Louis, Mo., and graduated from Sherwood High School in Olney, Md. He graduated with a bachelor's degree in agriculture business from University of Delaware and belonged to Kappa Alpha Fraternity. Rob enjoyed a long and successful career in the pharmacy industry in Delaware. Throughout his travels and moves, he never stopped making lifelong friends along the way.
Rob thrived as a father to his son and daughter, and 'Pop Pop' to his four beloved grandchildren. Rob traveled throughout the U.S. and to ocean sanctuaries where he could scuba dive. His soul soared most when he was being of service and helping others. He trained the family dog, Simba, to be a therapy dog at hospitals.
Beyond his greatest love of spending time with his children's families and friends, he soared enthusiastically with the Eagles, and helped his mother after his father passed. A lifelong dream, Robert retired and moved to Rehoboth Beach, where his joyous final years were spent volunteering at Cape Henlopen State Park and hosting his family at the beach.
Robert is survived by his son, daughter, four grandchildren, his mother, his sister, and her daughter and son.
In lieu of flowers, make donations in his honor to his favorite charity, rmhcdelaware.org/rmhc-greater-delaware.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
