Indoor League Report Week Three
After a week’s break for the staff to participate in the Winter Escape Showcase in Florida before nearly 250 college coaches, the elementary division league resumed with SRock defeating Coker behind a three-goal outburst by Olivia Hershelman. Two of Hershelman’s goals came in the opening half and her final goal was with 4:36 remaining in the match to make the final 3-0. In the second game,
Queens outlasted BelmontA by a final of 2-1. Vittoria Falvello gave Queens the opening half lead with a pair of goals before Olivia Balback scored early in the second half to pull BelmontA within one goal but the team was not able to get the tying goal before the end of the game.
In the final game of the division WChester was able to earn the win over Newberry behind goals by Emery Hammmond and Brynn Evick (2) for the 3-0 win.
In the first game of the senior division, Hannah Maney scored at 24:53 to give WashColl the early lead. Peyton Moore and Kendall McCabe both scored within 30 seconds of each other at the start of the second half to boost F & M into the lead. Lyla McAllister evened the score with her goal at 6:46 before Meredith Schiff got the game winner at 1:42 making the final a 3-2 win for WashColl.
The second game in the senior division was all Salisbury with the 5-1 victory over Wesley. Norah Block game Wesley the early lead with her goal at 23:50 but Carrie Clausius evened the game at 20:55 for Salisbury. Then the second half onslaught hit with another pair of goals by Clausius followed by a pair by Leah Metzner.
