Lewes Elementary spelling champs heading to regionals
Sophia Zhou and Anna Liang spelled every word correctly in school contest

Lewes Elementary fifth-graders Anna Liang and Sophia Zhou were crowned champions of the school spelling bee after correctly spelling every word on the list.
The winning word for both students was ‘retinitis pigmentosa.’ Anna and Sophia will represent Lewes Elementary at the Scripps National Spelling Bee Finals Saturday, March 16, at Sussex Academy.
Fifth-grader Emme Sutliffe earned third place and will enter the competition if Anna and Sophia are unable to attend the finals.
