A great Sussex autobiography

November 5, 2024

I’m prompted to write this letter because I am reading a delightful autobiography by a Sussex County gentleman whose name is Don Ward. Don hails from Millsboro, was educated in the Millsboro School District No. 23, went away to college, returned home and had a successful career in education and in business. Some time ago, he decided to write and publish memories and recollections of his life. If you can get a copy, I urge you to read it for several reasons. 1. Don is a native Sussex Countian who gives a glimpse of what life was like before folks found slower lower with its beaches and low taxes. 2. Don is a good storyteller who shares both anecdotes of life here in Sussex and tales of his and his wife’s travels to far off places. 3. Don is a self-reflective philosopher who has lived his Christian faith to make life better for his community and family.

If you want a good read while learning more about the soul and story of a Sussex County boy, try and find a copy of “My Journey” by Don Ward. Congratulations and thank you, Don.
