Cape High seniors Aidan Hudson of Milton and Jenna Reinhold of Lewes have been recognized as Commended Students by the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
Both students placed among the top 50,000 pupils who entered the 2025 competition by taking the 2023 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. They are among 34,000 Commended Students nationally recognized for exceptional academic promise.
Aidan and Jenna said they were surprised to receive the honor, as it has been a year since they took the test. The two seniors have been enrolled in Academic Challenge courses for years and also share an interest in engineering.
Aidan is a teaching assistant for his chemistry teacher, while Jenna is serving an internship at Pilottown Engineering. Aidan is a Cape band drum major and participates in mock trial. Jenna swims for Cape and with clubs year-round, and she also coaches young swimmers.
Both students plan to continue with band and swimming in college, and are currently narrowing down their selection for next year. Jenna is considering Clemson, James Madison University, Virginia Tech and University of Delaware, while Aidan is looking at University of Delaware or University of Maryland.
