The Stars Federation U9 boys’ soccer team recently won its bracket at the prestigious Copa Talento tournament. Held annually to showcase the best young soccer talent from across the nation, Copa Talento is known for its competitive matches and future stars of the sport.
Representing Delaware, the Stars Federation team went undefeated throughout the two-day tournament, demonstrating skill, teamwork and resilience. Competing against elite youth teams from around the country, the players met every challenge head-on.
The team roster included all Northern Delaware players with one from the Cape Region: Aiden Newell, Brian LaRochelle, Declan Stretch (Cape Henlopen), Edward Herrera, Johnny Perrone, Luca Glanzel and Noah Adefarati. Notably, Stretch brought pride to the Cape Region, contributing significantly to the team’s success and serving as a connection between both soccer communities.
“This was truly a team effort,” said coach Oshane Cooke. “The players rose to the occasion, kept their composure, showcased their skills and played their game with incredible determination.”
