Cape school board honors Sussex Consortium educators
Cape district leaders recognized Sussex Consortium teacher Jennifer Williams and substitute teacher John Flickinger with Going the Extra Mile Awards at the May 23 school board meeting.
Board member Jessica Tyndall said Williams exemplifies exceptional leadership and organizational skills as she spearheads initiatives like Community Helper Day, and Fall and Spring Flings.
“Her commitment to enhancing our school environment through engaging events and initiatives is truly commendable,” Tyndall said. “Jennifer not only excels in her role as a teacher, but also takes on additional responsibilities as a Pyramid leader and [Professional Learning Community] leader, demonstrating her strong leadership abilities and collaborative spirit.”
She volunteers her time and efforts for multiple activities throughout the school year, enriching the experience for both students and colleagues alike.
“Jennifer's passion, positivity and willingness to support others make her a phenomenal asset to our school community,” Tyndall said.
Board member Bill Collick said Flickinger exemplifies the ideal substitute, embodying a genuine passion for education and a remarkable dedication to the school.
“He is always ready to step into any classroom at any grade level, bringing with him a warm smile and infectious positivity that instantly uplifts both staff and students alike,” Collick said. “John's ability to adapt seamlessly to various teaching environments showcases his flexibility and commitment to supporting our school's mission.”
