CHEER to host seniors at Trap Pond festival Sept. 6

The CHEER Inc. nutrition program will host its annual Trap Pond Fall Festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Friday, Sept. 6, at Trap Pond State Park east of Laurel and south of Route 24.

A detour around Trap Pond Road may be in effect, so attendees should plan to allow extra travel timel.

Attendees will enjoy good food, entertainment, a white elephant table, and activities including bingo, horseshoes and cornhole, door prizes and raffles.

The traditional picnic lunch will be served at 12 p.m. Entertainment will be provided by DJ Sky Brady and others. Vendors representing services for seniors will be on site.

Tickets are $7 for seniors 60 and over, and $9 for guests under 60. Admission to the park will be free that day. Proceeds will benefit CHEER’s nutrition programs that serve Sussex County seniors.
