The 16th annual Cecil Fall Blast, a one-day soccer tournament, took place Nov. 17, at the Chesland Soccer Complex in Elkton, Md. Competing among talented teams, the Delaware Football Club 2013 Girls South squad of Lewes claimed victory in the Red Division with an outstanding performance.
The squad defeated Albion SC Delaware 3-1 in the opening match. The girls then took down rival Delaware Football Club 2013 North Blue by a score of 7-0.
In the final game, the team won a hard-fought match against Annapolis Select Futbol Club 2013 by a score of 1-0, netting a goal with just four minutes left.
Delaware Football Club is a not-for-profit, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to promoting youth soccer across Delaware, serving communities in Hockessin, Newark, Wilmington, Middletown and the Delaware beaches.
