Gavin Serman crowned Love Creek spelling bee champion

By correctly spelling the word “pioneered,” fifth-grader Gavin Serman persevered in the ninth round of Love Creek Elementary’s first Spelling Bee March 3 to become school champion.
School runner-up, fifth-grader Declan Durand, will join Gavin in competition at the Sussex County Libraries Regional Spelling Bee, set for April 1 at Sussex Academy.
