Georgetown property owner seeks donations for veterans retreat

The new owner of a five-acre Georgetown property that includes a 4,000-square-foot stone ranch home is transforming it into a retreat and home for veterans.

A person of strong faith, David Forman owns Christian Grace LLC, an organization that provides sober-living recovery housing. After purchasing the home at auction, Forman said God led him to believe the property should become a home for combat veterans. 

“Christian Grace is a self-evident name. We have been gifted by grace, and he asks only that we acknowledge it and pass it on to others. Who better deserves our appreciation and love than those who have fought for our freedom and liberty?” Forman said.

“People who serve and see combat have been living among brothers and sisters, and then sometimes return to a world where others have not shared their experiences,” he said. “Some are prone to depression, alcohol and substance abuse, and even suicide.”

Forman is seeking donations of funds that will be used to furnish a kitchen, bedrooms and bathrooms, and make the property wheelchair accessible.

"This home is meant for those brave heroes who would experience the benefits of living as one, with seven true brothers ... in a perfect kind of camping-like setting that will also provide excellent hunting and fishing,” he said.
