Gladys Wilson, retired teacher’s aide
Gladys Wilson, 95, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at Country Rest Home in Greenwood, surrounded by her loving family Sunday, March 2, 2025.
She was born Feb. 23, 1930, in Georgetown, to her parents, Charles A. and Ratie (Donovan) Rust.
Gladys retired as a teacher’s aide. When she was able, she attended Crossroads Community Church, Georgetown. She enjoyed reading, watching old cowboy shows, and attending church, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family, friends, and her cats. Gladys will be truly missed by her family and friends.
She enjoyed her 95th birthday Saturday, Feb. 23, with her family.
In addition to her parents, Gladys is preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Robert B. Wilson; and daughters, Mary Jane Leger, Linda Sue Wilson and Phyllis Ann Waterman.
She is survived by her children, Kay Harrison, Walter Wilson, Robert Wilson and William Wilson; 17 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, March 10, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown. A time of visitation for family and friends will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery, Georgetown.
