Thousands of people enjoyed perfect weather March 8 to watch the 13th annual Milton St. Patrick’s Day Parade, presented by Irish Eyes, and also partake in events at the Milton Theatre and other downtown establishments. The day kicked off at 11 a.m. with the 8th annual Lucky Leprechaun 5K, followed by the parade at 2 p.m.
Proceeds from the day’s activities benefit Milton Fire Department, Milton Chamber of Commerce and Gladys Wilkins Seeding the Future Scholarship Fund.

The colorful Durning String Band entertains the large Milton St. Patrick’s Day Parade crowd. The band, founded in 1935, is traditionally among the top 10 bands in the annual Mummers Parade in Philadelphia.

Clem LeGates’ Phoenix pops out a puff of steam. LeGates says he knows of no other steam-powered boats in Delaware.
