As a U.S. Navy veteran during the Vietnam War, I’ve spent years serving this country and standing up for the values that make America great. My dedication to this country has never waned. It has been refocused. Over the past few months, I’ve had the pleasure of knocking on doors alongside Nikki Miller and Kim Hoey Stevenson as they run for the Delaware House of Representatives District 20 and the 6th Senate District, respectively. And let me tell you, these two women are the best of the best.
You might think that politics is all about talking points and party lines, but when you hit the streets and talk to real people, you quickly see what truly matters – listening. And Nikki and Kim? They listen. Not just for the sake of it, but because they genuinely care about the concerns of the people in this district and across our state.
I've seen their dedication up close. As we’ve gone door to door, Nikki has impressed me with her understanding of the issues, whether it's ensuring a strong economy, supporting first responders or making sure our schools have what they need to succeed. She's smart, determined and not afraid of hard work. And she has a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, which is exactly what we need in the state House.
Kim is cut precisely from the same cloth. She’s someone who asks the tough questions and digs into the details. Her background on the Sussex County Planning & Zoning Commission gives her deep knowledge of how our local government works, and she’s passionate about protecting what makes Delaware special – our open spaces, small businesses and quality of life. She's the kind of leader who will watch out for all of us, not just wealthy special-interest groups.
I’ve served this country, and now I want to help Delaware. Nikki Miller and Kim Hoey Stevenson are driven by right versus wrong, not just winning for the sake of winning. They are the kind of leaders who will fight for the people, not for their own agendas. They’re out there, rain or shine, because they care. I’m proud to support them, and I hope you’ll join me.
