Millsboro man faces murder charge in connection with stabbing death of stepfather
A Millsboro man faces a murder charge after police say he stabbed his stepfather June 2 in Long Neck.
Police responded at 10:33 p.m. to the 25000 block of Redwing Lane in the Rehoboth Shores development for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, they found 61-year-old Dennis Harmon in the front yard suffering from stab wounds. Police said they tried to save his life, but Harmon died at the scene.
Police said Harmon and Christopher Moran, 25, were fighting when Moran stabbed Harmon multiple times. Moran fled the scene, and police found him walking a short time later in Rehoboth Shores. They arrested Moran without incident. He was taken to Troop 7, where he was charged with first-degree murder and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony. Moran was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $1,180,000 cash bond.
