Opening the 2025 season, “God of Carnage” show dates are Friday, Jan. 31, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 1 and 2, and Friday to Sunday, Feb. 7 to 9. Friday and Saturday shows begin at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday matinees start at 2 p.m.
Written by playwright Yasmina Reza, “God of Carnage” requires two females and two males, portraying two couples. All roles are written as parents in their mid-30s to mid-40s who have children of late elementary to middle school age. Peters said actors able to play characters in that range will be considered. There are no limitations in regard to race and/or ethnicity.
The couples are Annette and Alan Raleigh, and Veronica and Michael Novak. All actors will prepare two sides – one monologue, and one side that will be read with an audition monitor. For more information and a link to sides, go to possumpointplayers.org.
Those auditioning for female roles should prepare Annette Side (A) and Veronica Side (B). To audition for male roles, actors should prepare Alan Side (C) and Michael Side (D). Memorization is not mandatory but encouraged. Peters encourages all to dress comfortably and have fun.
