The Richard Allen Coalition held its ninth annual gala and capital campaign fundraiser Feb. 3 at the CHEER Community Center in Georgetown. The gala was the first capital campaign fundraiser for the Eunice Richardson Multipurpose Building.
The gala included dinner, cash bar, silent auction and live entertainment.
“The gala is a yearly opportunity to celebrate this past year’s accomplishments and update our supporters about the work that still needs to be done,” said Richard Allen Coalition President Jane Hovington.
Funds raised from this year's gala will be the basis for a campaign to raise money to build an adjacent building to the Richard Allen School to house a recreational area, additional classroom space and other amenities to provide alternative avenues for the youth of the community. It will be called the Eunice Richardson Multipurpose Building.
