Riverwalk Farmers Market celebrating 30 years in 2025

Vendor applications for upcoming season available soon
February 19, 2025

Downtown Milford Inc. is planning a yearlong celebration of the Riverwalk Farmers Market for 2025. This will be the market’s 30th anniversary, and it is the longest continuously running farmers market in Delaware.

“We are very excited this year to celebrate this market that has become a standard for markets throughout the state,” said Shelby DiCostanzo, farmers market chair. “We are hoping to gather as much history as we can and recognize the pioneers who created this market in 1995.”

The Riverwalk Farmers Market runs from the first weekend in May through the end of December. Open each Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon, the market not only offers fresh, local food items, but also artisan goods that represent Milford’s art town focus. A few years ago, a fall market was added, with such success that Downtown Milford decided this year to make it a permanent feature.

“Every event we hold this year will recognize the market,” DiCostanzo said. “We will kick it off with the Bug & Bud Festival on April 26 and continue throughout the year. We will have special merchandise for sale to recognize the 30 years we have been running this popular event.”

In honor of the 30th year, Downtown Milford has decided to focus the market on health and wellness. There will be educational programs, yoga, tai chi, and other offerings designed to promote healthier lifestyles.

Vendor applications will be released in mid-February and are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis as market space is limited. For more information, contact Downtown Milford at 302-393-6808 or email farmersmarket@downtownmilford.org.
