So much for undefeated

November 18, 2022

On Monday Night Football, the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Washington Commanders by the score 32-21. In the second half of the game, the Eagles made some uncharacteristic mistakes which helped Washington pull ahead. Unfortunately, for the next month, the team will be without their starting tight-end, Dallas Goedert, who is now sidelined with a shoulder injury from a blatant face mask penalty that wasn’t called. Sounds odd to say, but I think this loss could be a good thing for the team to keep them grounded for the rest of the season. I thought it was funny when head coach Nick Sirianni said "they played like crap" in his press conference this week. I hope they take the Indianapolis Colts seriously since the Colts have been one of the most disappointing teams so far this season. In order for the Eagles to maintain their lead in the division, they have to keep on winning because of the surprising New York Giants.

The 76ers have a lot of potential this year to make it pretty far in the playoffs. I think one of the keys is for Tyrese Maxey to start scoring a lot of points consistently to help Joel Embiid carry the team. This is especially important while James Harden is still out with his foot injury. A great example of this was the last Sunday's where Joel Embiid scored a career-high 59 points and it turned out they needed all those points to get the victory against the Utah Jazz. That is not going to be sustainable for the entire season.

Now that baseball season is over, I’ll be watching a lot of basketball. I hope that the 76ers season goes into May or June.
