Sposato Landscape completes corporate fitness challenge with great results

December 31, 2016

For many, the holiday season can be a great excuse to pack on the pounds. But for a dedicated group of employees, it was a chance to wind down from the busy season and concentrate on getting in shape. Sposato Landscape - one of the top 100 landscaping companies in the country - enrolled in my 12-week body transformation in mid-September, and they committed to structured fitness programs and a healthy diet that would disqualify them from the traditional comfort foods eaten from Thanksgiving through Christmas. The results were well worth it, and below are some of the great success stories from the challenge.

Mike McCoy

Mike entered the program because he was having trouble losing weight. He wanted to recover from a medical issue he previously had that limited what he could eat, which made it hard for him to get results. He was making the typical mistake of eating very low carbs, so we instantly added more food to his diet to fire up his metabolism and built a short, intense workout to supplement his healthy diet. Mike’s body reacted instantly, and he began losing weight and dropping body fat very quickly. On his final test, Mike had lost more than 16 pounds and reduced his body fat from 26 percent to 16.5 percent. He also gained four pounds of muscle in the process, making his transformation more than complete.

Marcus Richardson

Marcus is a veteran of the program and had not entered the challenge for several years, but his results were every bit as good as the first time we had a chance to work with him. This time he lost 20 pounds and shaved 35 percent of his starting body fat, dropping from 28 percent to 18 percent. The great thing about Marcus’s transformation was that he had maintained a lot of the results he received when he did the program before, so this was an excellent chance to go to the next level, and he more than delivered, turning in some of the best results in the challenge.

Madeline Bradshaw

At age 19, Madeline is the youngest person to date to complete the transformation, but she set a high standard for others to follow. Although she does not work for Sposato, she joined through our friends and family program with her mom and dad - Denise and Dale Bradshaw - and they all completed the transformation as a family. Madeline quickly became the driving force within the household, making charts and tracking weekly weight loss. At the time of her final test, she had lost 25 pounds and nearly 8 percent body fat. Her before and after pictures showed a dramatic change of appearance, and the best part about it was she did it with her family and it was sponsored by their employer.

Will Reid

Will came to us with excellent genetics. As a former wrestler and high school coach, he was no stranger to hard work. We structured his program a bit differently, with less focus on weight loss, and the results were nothing short of amazing. Will lost over 9 percent body fat and gainied a solid 10 pounds of muscle. The most amazing part of his results was that he finished at a shredded 8.9 percent body fat, putting him in a very elite class of fitness. Great job, Will!

Corporate fitness is a different animal. Working people are too busy trying to make ends meet, taking care of their families and doing their jobs to spend countless hours in the gym. But we have found that offering our transformation program annually pays big dividends to the participating company and allows us to build a culture of fitness one employee at a time. Congratulations, everyone, and we can’t wait till next year to build on what we have already taught you.
