St. Peter’s seeks Easter dinner meal bag donations by March 26
Spring is in the air and Easter is around the corner. Still, there are those who have lost jobs, lost loved ones to COVID-19 and even don’t know where their next meal may be coming from.
In an effort to mitigate some of the deprivation and worry, the Heart and Soul Ministry of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will be collecting and distributing Easter dinner meal bags for Primeros Pasos in Georgetown, Community Resource Center in Rehoboth Beach and Family Outreach in Lincoln.
The ministry is seeking Easter dinner meal bag donations to be dropped off by Friday, March 26.
Each bag will contain a complete dinner meal for a family of four.
Dinner meal bags have contained: two 16 oz. canned hams, which can be ordered through Walmart or Walgreens; one box mashed potato flakes or two cans of potatoes; two cans each of corn, yams, any green vegetable and applesauce; box of tea bags and juice boxes; one or more cartons shelf-stable milk; two cans soups; two cans fruit; shelf-stable pie and/or cookies for dessert; little treats for kids; festive plates and napkins; and any other creative ideas people may want to include.
To drop off bags, go in the Mulberry Street entrance of St. Peter’s parish hall and downstairs, turn left and proceed to the large Godly Play classrooms. Bags may be placed on or around the large round table. Organizers extend thanks to donors for their generosity and kindness.
