Sussex Preservation Coalition honored the winners of its youth environmental video contest at its June 11 meeting.

Finishing first was the team of Melissa Velasquez-Zunun of Sussex Central High School and Duncan Wagner of Sussex Academy.

Their video urged people to get involved and act now to save the Sussex environment.

Second place was awarded to five students from Caesar Rodney High School: Erin Davis, Isabelle Miller, Aibhlinn Hall, Audrey Hattie and Nathan York.

Their video focused on the forests in Sussex County and small changes that make an impact.

Luke Metzner of Seaford High School finished third with his video explaining the impact of blue catfish on native species.
