Thurman Ray Anderson, DuPont retiree, volunteer

Thurman Ray Anderson, 91, of Georgetown, went to be with his Lord Nov. 8, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Thurman lived a wonderful life for 67 with his wife, Ramona. Together they had three children, Debbie (Rick), Randy (Donna) and David, nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Linda McKeown.

Thurman retired from DuPont Nylon Plant in Seaford after 37 years. After retirement, he went to work at Sports at the Beach. He volunteered at Georgetown Little League, Georgetown Aid Inc., and American Red Cross. He also volunteered anywhere his children and grandchildren needed him, including many years with the Sussex Central junior and senior high school bands. He was a dedicated member of Carey’s Church and Carey’s Camp, as well as the American Legion Post 8.

A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 15, at Waston Funeral Home in Millsboro, with services beginning at 11 a.m. Internment to follow at Carey’s Cemetery, Millsboro.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Carey’s Camp, Attn. Denise Burton, 210 Laurel Road, Millsboro, DE 19966; or Georgetown Little League, Attn. Matt Megee, P.O. Box 105, Georgetown, DE 19947.
