Vote for party that says yes to safer, healthier Delaware
In the last General Assembly, Sen. Russ Huxtable voted yes to legislation that:
• Requires a person to obtain a permit in order to purchase a handgun (SB 2)
• Makes the unsafe storage of a firearm in a vehicle a Class A misdemeanor (HB 155)
• Addresses climate change by setting goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 50% by 2030 and 100% by 2050 in the state with the lowest sea-level elevation in the U.S. (HB 99)
• Makes voting more accessible by allowing no-excuse absentee voting (SB 3)
• Expands women’s access to reproductive healthcare by requiring all Medicaid health plans to cover services related to the termination of pregnancy (HB 110).
This is a partial list of bills where every Republican senator voted no and every Democrat voted yes.
In the next session, legislation will be introduced (or reintroduced) that, if passed, will further protect women’s reproductive rights, expand voting rights, promote sustainable growth while protecting our environment, and address affordable housing and healthcare shortages. The key term in that sentence is “if passed.” That requires yes votes.
I’m voting for the Senate District 6 candidate who represents the party that says yes to a safer, healthier and more livable Delaware for all of us – Russ Huxtable.
