Where are the litter picker-uppers?

February 11, 2025

All over Angola, particularly Angola Beach Road, Camp Arrowhead Road, south of Angola Road, every type of garbage and trash imaginable decorates the shoulders. Route 24 too. East of Mulberry Knoll Road too is a filthy eyesore. Has there been any litter removal in years?

On Angola Beach Road, adjacent to the Windswept at Lewes and Baypointe communities, there’s an Adopt-A-Highway sign, but there hasn’t been a speck of trash picked up in a year or so. Are there requirements to have an Adopt-A-Highway sign erected? It’s time our lawmakers realize more homes mean more trash and pick it up more regularly. Where are the litter picker-uppers who picked it up in the past? We’re told the correction officers do not want to take the prisoners out anymore. If so, what’s the remedy?
