Faith-based wellness rally to offer hope Sept. 22
Crossroad Community Church in Georgetown will host a day of faith, fun, food and fitness as the church’s First Place 4 Health group holds its third annual Delaware Wellness Rally from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 22.
First Place 4 Health is a Christ-centered approach to discovering the best version of oneself. Attendees will gain spiritual inspiration for their wellness journeys, learn doable changes for better nutrition, and get moving with safe, fun and effective physical activity for every fitness level.
Keynote speaker will be Charlotte Davis, a registered, licensed dietitian who works as the child nutrition director for an Arkansas public school district of 4,100 students. She is the author of the soon-to-be-released “My Place for Nutrition.” Davis has led FP4H groups in Arkansas churches for more than 20 years.
Lisa Karnish, who started the FP4H group at Crossroad in 2014 and is now the local networking leader, will also speak. A retired ICU registered nurse, Karnish is certified as a group fitness Instructor and health coach. She has a passion for serving God and helping others avoid chronic health disease. Participants also will hear inspiring success stories and learn solutions to common struggles.
Cost is $25 for online registration through Sunday, Sept. 9, and $35 after that date. Healthy refreshments and lunch are included.
