Good Friday interfaith service and cross walk set April 2

The Kent Ecumenical local ministerium will sponsor an interfaith service and way of the cross procession starting at noon, Good Friday, April 2, in front of Bayhealth Kent Campus and Holy Cross Catholic Church at 632 S. State St. in downtown Dover. 

The group will proceed north on State Street, stopping for prayer at various locations on the way. Prayers will be led by representatives of Christ Episcopal Church, Wesley United Methodist Church, the Presbyterian Church of Dover, People’s Church, Bayhealth chaplaincy, Holy Cross, Dover Air Force Base, John Wesley AME, the Bahai’ community and others. The procession will end at Mt. Zion AME on North Queen Street.

All are invited to attend; this event is free and open to the public. Face masks are required, along with safe social distancing, except for members of the same household.

A freewill offering will be taken to benefit the Kent Ecumenical Food and Crisis Fund. This fund provides assistance to families in need through referral from the James Williams Service Center. Donations are always welcome and greatly appreciated. Mail contributions to Kent Ecumenical at P.O. Box 913, Dover, DE 19903.
