Eagles have a great game against the Vikings

September 23, 2022

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Minnesota Vikings by the score of 24-7 on Monday Night Football. The whole team played a complete game. Quarterback Jalen Hurts definitely played his best game as an Eagle. Second-year receiver DeVonta Smith played very well after having no catches in the first week and Darius Slay finally lived up to the hype as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. The scoring in this game was quite odd. All of the points were scored in the first half. If the Eagles can maintain this level of play, they can go pretty far this season, but it was only the second game.

This week’s game is against the Washington Commanders and QB Carson Wentz. Washington has a good offense. I hope the Eagles don’t take them lightly. In my opinion, Carson Wentz should still be on the Indianapolis Colts. He was the scape goat for the Colts’ failure to make the playoffs last year. The New York Giants are tied with the Eagles for first place at 2-0. Before the season started, the Giants were supposed to be one of the worst teams in the league. I guess that is why they play the games. Go Eagles!

The Phillies are limping their way toward the playoffs. As of now, there are only 14 games left in the season, and they are 2 1/2 games ahead of the Milwaukee Brewers for the last playoff position. The Phillies have a somewhat difficult schedule to end the season. The last four home games this weekend are with the reigning world champion Atlanta Braves. I hope the season does not come down to the last three games because they have to play a Houston Astros team that is one of the best teams in the American League. In order for the Phils to have a chance to make and win in the playoffs, Bryce Harper has to start playing better. He has struggled mightily after coming back from his thumb injury. Go Phillies!
