Cape Gazette readers visit the beautiful island of Oahu in Hawaii

Gary and Debra Eckenrode visited many spectacular sites on the tropical island of Oahu. The visit to Pearl Harbor was very touching. They got to see the USS Arizona Memorial and the USS Bowfin submarine, and took a tour of the Battleship Missouri Memorial. These were the patriotic highlights of the site. They also enjoyed visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center and the Bishop Museum, which were very informative. The ATV ride through Kualoa Ranch was thrilling; it is where much of the movie, “Jurassic Park,” was filmed. To top it off, they experienced an awesome view of Honolulu while climbing Diamond Dead. It was exhilarating! The breathtaking beaches and mountain views as they traversed the island made the trip a wonderful experience.
