In October, Pam Rossi of Rehoboth Beach sailed on an eight-day Uniworld River Cruise in France, sailing on the Rhone River from Arles to Lyon, France, aboard the SS Catherine. The first day of the trip, was spent in Arles, exploring the beautiful city in the Provence area of Southern France. Arles has an amazing history as it was once a provincial capital of Ancient Rome and still has many remains from that era, including an ancient cemetery and a Roman Amphitheatre, where they still host bullfighting events. It is also known as a past residence of Vincent VanGogh and inspired many of his works of art. As Pam sailed along the Rhone, stops included Avignon, Viviers, Tain-l'Hermitage, and Beaune, before its final port in Lyon, France’s second-largest city, located at the confluence of the Rhone and Saone Rivers.
