Cape bands perform in Bandstand Jazz Festival
High school, Beacon and Mariner middle schools showcase talents of student musicians

Four Cape Henlopen School District bands played during the May 17 Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Jazz Festival – Cape High School Jazz I and II bands under director Chris Burkhart and assistant director Elly Rolfes; Mariner Middle School Band directed by Bryan Mahoney; and Beacon Middle School Jazz I and II bands led by Robert Barbarita.
Sponsors of the 12th annual event were Cape Henlopen High School and Zeswitz Music, and Burkhart was emcee and coordinator.
Three Cape bands helped kick off the festival, which continued into the night, concluding with Cape High Jazz I and University of Delaware Jazz I.
Twenty-two bands from Delaware and Pennsylvania participated to herald in the Bandstand season.
More than 20 bands from the region took part in the 12th annual Rehoboth Beach Bandstand Jazz Festival.
