DeShields awarded Marty Johnson Future Farmer Scholarship
Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market administers program in its inaugural year

The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market presented the Marty Johnson Future Farmer Scholarship in the amount of $3,750 to Delaware State University agriculture studies student Daeveon DeShields during a market day Aug. 13. This is the first year the scholarship was awarded.
The scholarship honors Marty Johnson, a resident of Delaware for the past 20 years who grew up on a farm in the Midwest. The scholarship, which is administered by the Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market, is open to all applicants who are interested in pursuing education in agriculture.
