Events This Weekend in Delaware and Maryland

November 14, 2024

We transition away from the Fall Festival Season this week and into more of an early holiday season, with several events and gatherings on this week's schedule that have a bit of a Christmasy feel.

This is headlined by the 2024 debut of the always anticipated Winter Celebration at the Schellville complex in Rehoboth Beach. This kicks off on Saturday and you can read much more on that and several other upcoming events below.

As always, we wish everyone a great weekend at and near the Delaware and Maryland beaches. And please let us be one of the first to wish you a happy and joyous holiday season in 2024.

Now, here are the Oldfather Group's top choices for the expanded weekend of November 15-17 in the coastal region and beyond. Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Schellville Enchanted Winter Celebration (Begins November 16)

The always fun and popular winter celebration at Schellville kicks off this Saturday, November 16. It will run on weekends only over the next few weeks before expanding to longer hours as we get closer to Christmas.

A change this year for the popular holiday event - no tickets are required for entry during the 2024 run. Just come out and enjoy the festivities!

Popular activities at Schellville will again include the outdoor roller-skating rink, a sled hill, train rides, a snow zone, live music, a tree maze, nearly two dozen miniature themed houses, concessions, and a lot more.

Schellville is located behind Tanger Outlets Seaside on Coastal Highway in Rehoboth Beach.

War at the Shore (November 17)

This seventh annual event takes place at Bethany Blues in Lewes and pits several of the area's best bartenders and chefs against each other in a fun and spirited competition for your votes.

More than a dozen local restaurants will be represented in 2024 in this competition that "pairs mixology and chef collaborations."

The idea behind the War at the Shore is to pair Sagamore Rye whiskey with food that complements the flavor of the beverage when paired with different culinary options.

General admission tickets to this event are $40 and include samples of the entries as well as the ability to vote for the ultimate winner of the competition. Learn more about the 2024 War at the Shore by visiting bethany-blues.com.
