The Room at Cedar Grove welcomes Kara Joyce as events manager

The Room at Cedar Grove is a well-known concert venue and supper club near Lewes. It’s also a fundraising endeavor for Paul Kares, a nonprofit that supports young performing and culinary artists.

Paul Kares recently announced Kara Joyce has been appointed to the position of events manager. Before moving to Lewes, Joyce owned and operated a successful catering and restaurant business in Warrenton, Va., for 20 years.

“The Room is a one-stop shop that can handle business functions, receptions, showers and other celebrations,” Joyce said. “It’s easy to access – you don’t need to deal with resort traffic – and it’s designed to showcase top-level talent, so you know the sound system is on point.”

The space is now available to rent for private functions. Amenities include a stage for entertainment and presentations, stage lighting, a professional sound system with accessories, an in-house AV specialist, commercial kitchen and in-house catering, and plenty of free on-site parking.

“When we’re not having bands and other performers, the room is available,” said Jim Rivette, president of Paul Kares, which he founded with musician Paul Cullen. “We are opening it up for rent to benefit the community and Paul Kares.”
