Milford man killed in hit-and-run near Lincoln

A Milford man was killed Dec. 25, following a hit-and-run crash near Lincoln.

The crash happened about 3:30 a.m. while Leo Hernandez Perez, 29, was walking along Cubbage Pond Road. According to police, a Toyota Tundra traveling northbound on the same road struck the man and fled the scene, police said.

The Toyota was later found abandoned on Johnson Road.

Hernandez Perez was pronounced dead at the scene.

Cubbage Pond Road, from Johnson Road to Flea Town Road, was closed for about three hours while Delaware State Police Troop 7 Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated the crash and cleared the roadway.

The investigation remains ongoing, and Delaware State Police asks anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has relevant information to contact Sr. Cpl. J. Smith at 302-703-3267. Information may also be provided by private Facebook message to the Delaware State Police or by contacting Delaware Crime Stoppers at 1-800-847-3333.
