Lights of Life gala to benefit breast cancer coalition March 1

January 22, 2025

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition announced its Lights of Life Gala: A Night in Paris will take place from 5 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, March 1, at Bally’s Dover Casino Resort, with musical entertainment from local favorite DJ Brian K. Hall.

The evening of living and giving is made possible with community support.

Okemah Strickland, a repeat sponsor and event committee member, and a breast cancer survivor herself, said, “The entire event is a great way to meet people and to witness how the proceeds directly benefit survivors.”

Sponsorships and auction donations to the Lights of Life Gala help generate funding to sustain DBCC’s survivorship support and education programs. The auction features a range of tempting options including exquisite jewelry, luxurious spa experiences, sports memorabilia and dream vacations.

A highlight is the survivor showcase. Every year, a group of survivors is selected to stroll down the runway escorted by dedicated medical professionals and have their stories shared with the gala audience. The experience provides an atmosphere for survivors to feel empowered while also allowing the audience to gain perspective on the experiences of those dealing with breast cancer while understanding how DBCC’s programs have improved their lives.
