March 8, 2025

A Milford man faces his fifth DUI March 7 after a Lewes-area traffic stop.

The incident happened at 1:35 a.m. when a trooper on patrol saw a Chevrolet Traverse weaving along northbound Route 1 near Postal Lane, and pulled the vehicle over, police said.

The driver showed signs of impairment and the trooper administered Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. After the tests, police said a computer check showed Maurice Finney, 36, had four prior driving under the influence. He was taken to Troop 7 and charged with fifth offense DUI, driving while suspended or revoked, and speeding. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 3, and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $6,101 cash bond.
