Beebe welcomes new clinicians to its Lewes campus
Beebe Healthcare recently welcomed three new clinical care specialists to its hospital-based provider team.
Pete Zingone, ACNPC-AG, is a nurse practitioner and hospitalist who provides comprehensive care for patients admitted to the hospital for treatment of acute and chronic medical conditions. He is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner, demonstrating his clinical expertise in managing acute and complex conditions in adult and geriatric patients.
Zingone earned a master’s degree in nursing as an acute care nurse practitioner - gerontology from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minn. He is also a graduate of Delaware Technical Community College, where he earned an associate’s degree in nursing. Before joining Beebe, Zingone worked at ChristianaCare as a nurse practitioner member of the cardiovascular surgical team. Prior to that, he spent 17 years as a registered nurse specializing in emergency medicine, trauma, intensive care and rapid response. Before beginning his career in healthcare, Zingone proudly served in the United States Marine Corps.
“I am proud to work at Beebe because it is an integral part of my community, and I am passionate about giving back,” said Zingone. “Serving at Beebe allows me to provide high-quality care to my own family, friends and neighbors. I take great pride in contributing to the well-being of my community and making a meaningful impact every day.”
Rachel Forrest, NP, is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who collaborates closely with Beebe’s hospitalist team, providing comprehensive care, monitoring and evaluation services for patients who have been admitted to the hospital for a wide range of medical issues requiring around-the-clock medical oversight.
Forrest earned a master’s degree as a family nurse practitioner at Wilmington University. She is also a graduate of Towson University, where she earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing. Forrest is board certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and is licensed to practice in both Delaware and Maryland. Prior to joining Beebe, she worked as a family nurse practitioner for several local healthcare organizations, including Signify Health, NutriHealth Weight Loss and Pointe Primary Care. Earlier in her career, she worked as a bedside nurse at both Nemours-A.l. duPont Hospital and ChristianaCare.
“I am proud to serve the local community and am especially passionate about caring for the aging population,” said Forrest. “Beebe’s mission and focus on service align with my own core values, so the organization is a perfect fit for me as I grow in my career.”
Courtney Gwyer, RPA, is the region’s first registered radiologist assistant. She works closely with supervisory radiologists at Beebe to perform invasive and noninvasive procedures with a focus on optimizing patient care and efficiency.
Gwyer earned her associate degree in radiologic technology from Wor-Wic Community College in Salisbury, Md., and her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Capella University. She completed her master of science degree in radiologic science at Midwestern State University. Gwyer is certified by the Certification Board for Radiology Practitioner Assistants as a radiology practitioner assistant as well as by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists as a radiologist assistant. She is also registered as a medical radiologic technologist and a radiologist assistant by the State of Delaware.
Gwyer transitioned to her new role at Beebe in early 2025. Previously, she served as the lead radiology technologist, responsible for performing a variety of imaging studies for all areas of the hospital while also serving as a respected radiology team leader.
“When I decided to advance my career as an advanced practice provider, I was glad that I was able to complete the majority of my two years of clinical training time here at Beebe,” said Gwyer. “I look forward to working with the amazing X-ray techs I have been collaborating with for years, as well as the rest of the talented and caring radiology staff that serves this great little community that I love.”
