HOW TO PREPARE FOR SHOWINGS
These are some guidelines to help prepare for showings:
- Open all blinds, shades and curtains – the more light the better when showing a home. Bright is Better!
- Turn on all lights. Lamps, overhead lights, exterior lights. Turn them all on. Once again Bright is Better! Make it as inviting as you can.
- Please please leave the house 10 minutes before the showing. Potential buyers are so uncomfortable when the seller is in the home.
- Is the front porch and stairs neat and clean? First impressions are so important.
- Are the bathroom towels folded neatly? Tub, sink and toilet clean?
- Is the temperature comfortable?
- The kitchen is so important. Is it neat and clean? All dishes put away or in the dishwasher? Counters clean and cleared?
- Are all beds made?
- How does it smell? Hopefully not like dinner from last night. If it does air it out before anyone arrives.
- Using a subtle air freshener is always good.
