Alexander Glenn Dunn, beloved son, father
Alexander G. Dunn, cherished papa, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend, died suddenly at home in Milton Monday, March 24, 2025. Alex was born Sept. 26, 1976, to William Glenn Dunn and Janet Stevenson Dunn.
He spent his childhood in Wilmington before moving to Lewes in 1997. He graduated from the school of hard knocks and worked at an assortment of cool guy businesses (record stores, tattoo studios, and Rogers Sign Company). Upon the birth of his first son, he settled in Milton and, from that point on, loudly proclaimed that he was Milton born and bred. Alex was incredibly creative. He loved drawing and music (making and listening to). He was well-known for making incredible mix tapes and, in recent years, texting strings of YouTube links to meaningful songs. All he wanted was for those he loved to be cooler (aka just like him). Alex was hilarious, possessing an intelligence and dry wit that rarely coexist these days. Throw in some well-timed Simpsons jokes, and he was a comedic tour de force.
Alex was preceded in death by many of his favorite shows (especially The Wire), an assortment of pets (especially Carlton, Sam and Benji), and his wonderful brother, Kevin. He is survived by his parents, Janet and Glenn; favorite aunt, Pam Stevenson; most favorite cousin, Joanna Suder; lifelong best friend, Dan Clemens; and the loves of his life, his children, Liam, Miles and Phoebe.
Like many with the intelligence to understand how our world truly functions, Alex struggled with the reality of this existence. He sought healthy and unhealthy ways to cope, but ultimately the pain overtook his resolve. He would want everyone to remember that the world keeps the thinking man down and the down man thinking. In losing Alex, those who loved him have lost their favorite person. He always did—and in our memories, he forever will—rock. Bye for now.
