Advent Lessons and Carols service set Dec. 8 at St. Peter’s in Lewes

The St. Cecilia Music Guild will present a special service of Advent Lessons and Carols at 5 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 8, at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lewes. Doors will open for seating at 4:30 p.m. 

Advent, a season of the liturgical year observed in most Christian denominations, is a time of expectant waiting and preparing to celebrate the nativity of Christ at Christmas.

The candlelight service will include lessons from the Hebrew prophets and the Gospels, along with favorite carols of the Advent season presented in settings for vocal choir, handbell choir and congregation.
