December 31, 2024

Beebe Healthcare announced Joyce Robert, MD, FAAFP, and Paul Sierzenski, MD, MSHQS, CPE, FACEP, have been named to the Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research board of directors.

In her board seat, Robert represents the Medical Society of Delaware. She is founding program director for Beebe’s Family Medicine Residency.

Representing Beebe’s Family Medicine Residency on the board, Sierzenski has served as Beebe’s chief physician executive since October 2022. Both new directors have been instrumental in the advancement of Beebe’s commitment to medical education.

“We are honored to have two of our distinguished physician leaders selected to serve on the DIMER board,” said Dr. David A. Tam, Beebe Healthcare president and CEO. “Their appointments reflect both their individual excellence, and Beebe's growing influence in shaping healthcare education in Sussex County and throughout Delaware.”

DIMER plays an important role in expanding medical education opportunities for Delaware residents and developing strategies to address physician workforce needs across the state. The appointments of Robert and Sierzenski will help strengthen the connection between medical education and community healthcare needs in Sussex County and throughout Delaware.

“I am honored and excited to serve on the DIMER board and contribute to the positive impact we can make in Delaware, inspired by the enduring legacy of Sherman Townsend,” said Robert.

The Delaware Institute of Medical Education and Research serves as Delaware's medical school through an agreement with Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University and the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. DIMER ensures opportunities for Delaware residents to obtain a high-quality medical education and helps address the state's healthcare workforce needs.
