Berberian study abroad scholarship recipients announced
The Berberian family announced the three recipients of the 2025 Rambo Rozi Berberian Scholarship, created in memory of Rozi Diane Berberian. The award was created to support Delaware Technical Community College Owens Campus students with a passion for international study. This year’s winners are Lauren McConnell, Giovanna Conforti and Madison Serrato.
These outstanding students were selected for their commitment to gaining global perspectives and enhancing their education through study-abroad experiences. Each will receive financial support to help offset travel and tuition costs for their international studies.
Lewes resident Rozi Diane Berberian, affectionately known as "Rambo Rozi," earned the nickname for her bravery and tenacity during her battle with cancer. Berberian believed that an international perspective enhances personal and professional growth, and she devoted time and resources to support study-abroad programs for Delaware Tech Owens Campus students.
“It’s been five years since Rozi passed away, but her legacy continues to inspire us,” said Jack Berberian, Rozi’s husband. “We are both immigrants to the USA, and Rozi’s journey taught her the importance of gaining new perspectives. These scholarships are a way to keep her memory alive and encourage others to follow in her footsteps.”
The Berberian family hopes the scholarship recipients will carry Rozi’s fearless determination into their own journeys, forging connections and embracing new challenges across the globe.
Approaching the fifth anniversary of Rozi’s passing, the scholarship committee asks for donations to the Rambo Rozi Berberian Scholarship Fund to continue her mission to help students explore the world.
