Finally! The NBA Finals will be contested starting Thursday night in a rematch of last year between the defending champions, the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The series should be very close. It will be quite interesting to see how much energy Golden State still has after surviving a very hard-fought seven-game series against Oklahoma City in the Western Conference finals.
I will be cheering for Cleveland to win simply because they haven't won a professional championship since 1954! In order for Lebron James to be acknowledged as one of the great players in NBA history, he has to start converting some more of these chances to win championships.
The Phillies' season seems to be going down the tubes!
Unfortunately, they lost all six games last week to Chicago and Washington and most of them in very brutal fashion. They have a painfully anemic offense, which cannot even score more than two runs in any given game.
The only reason the Phillies won't finish in last place in the National League East division is because the Atlanta Braves have gotten off to such a terrible start and are the worst team in baseball. Even worse than the Phillies.
On a positive note, a huge congratulations goes to the Cape Henlopen high school women's lacrosse team. They have now won their eighth straight state championship. That is just unbelievable!
College lacrosse finals was equally great to watch last weekend. The University of North Carolina won both the men's and women's NCAA championship games!
