The Cape boys’ tennis team put two more wins in the books with a 5-0 victory over Smyrna March 27 and 4-1 win over St. Mary’s Ryken March 29.
Cape junior Nate Hoang took a 6-0, 6-1 win over Smyrna’s Luke Ryder at first singles. Senior second-singles player Trent Kauffman defeated the Eagles’ Everett Mace 6-1, 6-4. Sophomore Sullivan Naden took a 6-0, 6-1 win from Smyrna’s Fred Adoe at third singles.
Cape’s first-doubles team of Krish Prattipati and Caidan Juliano bested Smyrna’s Aiden Barclay and Bryce Painter 6-0, 6-0, while the Vikings second-doubles duo of Brody Trewartha and Michael Gordon downed the Smyrna team of Tyrone Davidson and Chris Wesseh 6-1, 6-2.
Hoang defeated St. Mary’s Ryken’s top player Thomas Sudore-Flood 6-4, 7-5. Naden outlasted Donovan De La Cruz 6-3, 2-6, 13-11 at third singles. Prattipati and Juliano topped St. Mary’s Ryken’s top doubles duo 6-3, 6-0, while Trewartha and Gordon took down their opponents 6-2, 6-2.
The Vikings host Seaford Tuesday, April 1.
