The turf temperature was 100 degrees at Champions Stadium Oct. 31, for the quarterfinal field hockey matchup between No. 1 Cape and No. 8 St. Georges.
Cape hit the hot ground running, surging to a 5-0 first-period lead, then ran the roster the rest of the way to win 10-0.
Cape will play Charter School of Wilmington Monday, Nov. 4, at the former Wesley College field that is now a part of Delaware State University in Dover. Cape outshot St. Georges 18-0, with a 17-0 advantage in penalty corners.
Macy Steinwedel led the way with four goals, followed by Alysa McCarthy with three. Single goals were scored by Avary Miller, Teagan Baker and Ellen Ramsey.
Mairead Rishko and Atia Sabbagh each had two assists, while Steinwedel, Emily Wells and Norah Block each had one.
