Children’s Beach House announced the Ma-Ran Endowment for its Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center has entered the final phase of its $2 million challenge grant. The challenge, initiated by the Ma-Ran Foundation in 2021 and named for Margaret and Randall Rollins, is conditioned on CBH raising a $2 million complement. To date, Children’s Beach House has raised $1.2 million, with $800,000 left to raise by Tuesday, Sept. 30. The organization requests generous support of friends and community members looking to secure the future of this essential resource.
The Margaret H. Rollins Child Development Center is the only Lewes preschool east of Route 1 offering full-day programming. The center’s five-day, year-round classes with extended care are specifically designed for working families. In line with CBH’s mission and the latest research on early intervention, two classrooms serve children with communicative delays from under-resourced backgrounds, who learn alongside their typically developing peers.
When complete, the endowment will generate approximately $420,000 annually to fund two CDC head teacher positions in perpetuity. This funding will ensure that CBH is able to offer staff livable wages, supporting the retention of top-quality educators. It also guarantees that the organization can continue providing these essential services for years to come.
