Rehoboth Beach officials and the developers of Coast Rehoboth Beach celebrated the grand opening of the city’s newest hotel with a ribbon cutting Aug. 30.

The building was formerly the four-decade home to the Sandcastle Motel. In late 2021, it was purchased by New Castle County developer Harvey Hanna and then underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation over the course of about 18 months. The developer also owns and operates the Hyatt House Lewes/Rehoboth Beach on Route 1 near Lewes and the Hyatt Place in Dewey Beach.

The property has an address of 123 Second St., but Coast’s entrance faces Rehoboth Avenue. As part of the renovation, Sirocco, a full-service Southern Mediterranean-style restaurant, was also added.

The new hotel is part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection. For more information on Coast Rehoboth Beach, go to hilton.com or call 302-227-0400.
