Delaware Farm Bureau recently announced Alyssa Cowan as its 2023 photo contest winner. Her agricultural landscape view shows of a young girl wearing pink rain boots and a blue floral dress standing on a gate watching cows in the pasture at sunset, with chicken houses, hay bales and forest in the background.
Cowan and other talented amateur photographers earned awards in the Delaware Farm Bureau Promotion & Education Committee’s annual contest. They were honored for their accomplishments at the farm bureau annual banquet held Dec. 9 at the Modern Maturity Center in Dover.
Other winning images included livestock, farming equipment, patriotic scenes and other agricultural themes.
The photo contest opened in May and ran through Oct. 31. All winners received a certificate, and their entries will be displayed at the Delaware Farm Bureau state office in Camden and the Delaware Agricultural Museum in Dover.
Top awardees are: Alyssa Cowan, first place and $200; April Doyle, second place and $150; Leanne Garrett, third place and $100; and Liz Davis, fourth place and $50.
Honorable mentions went to Kristen Kemp, Amanda Strouse, Jennifer Carlson, Dennis Wimer III, Laura Larimore and Robert Willoughby Jr.
The 2024 contest will begin in May. For more information, go to defb.org or call 302-697-3183.
