Delmarva Christian High School is taking proactive steps to equip its student body with the knowledge and resources they need to navigate the college application process through College Week.
Alternating each year with Career Day, the Life Calling initiative offered students the opportunity to meet college representatives in the DCHS Arts and Athletic Center during extended lunch period sessions. DCS Athletic Director Matt McGinnis held a highly informative session on NCAA college athletic recruiting, and students spent time in class applying for colleges and researching scholarships. DCHS also conducted a Financial Aid Night event, shedding light on the intricacies of financing a college education, and covering crucial topics such as scholarships, grants, loans and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.
Through these initiatives, DCHS is not only preparing students and families for the next chapter of their lives, but also helping them discover their unique paths while keeping faith at the center of their educational journey. "College Week is a great opportunity for our students to learn more about higher education as they discover where the Lord is leading them in the next chapter of their lives," said DCHS Counselor Terri Smith. "Everyone’s life calling is different, but College Week gave the student body an opportunity to explore the college experience and what it takes to make that a reality."
